Man Shot, Killed On Western Mass Street; Police Ask For Information

A man who was shot over the weekend in Springfield has died of his wound, authorities announced. Now, police are asking for the public's help to find who pulled the trigger. 

Springfield police were called to Hanock Street near the intersection of Union Street Sunday night, Aug. 6, after a man was shot.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire near the intersection of Hancock and Union Streets around 7:45 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 6. Police found a man bleeding out from a bullet wound on Hancock Street.

Paramedics rushed him to Baystate Medical Center, where he later died of his wounds, Springfield police said. 

Officials did not release the man's name or any information about him.
